Dr. Qiu joined Emory University in 2013 from Department of Radiology, Stanford University. He is Program Director of MRI at Center for Systems Imaging Core and leads a research team on computational neuroimaging and neuroscience (CN2L). The current work of Dr. Qiu and his lab includes development and application of advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques as well as image analysis tools to improve clinical diagnosis and management of neurological diseases such as cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease and to advance human knowledge of normal brain functioning. He has extensive experience in medical image acquisition methods, application of machine learning algorithms in medical images, software development and the use of technology in solving problems in healthcare in general. He has strong training in quantitative and statistical analysis, signal and image processing, physics and mathematical modelling, solid software development experience in industry and in-depth knowledge of neuroscience.
