Kamala
Natarajan
My name is Kamala Natarajan and I am a BS/MS Biology Bioinformatics Student at GT. I was born in Los Gatos, California and spent my early years in Bangalore, India. I relocated to Atlanta with my family in 2019. I am a vocalist, so I sing a lot! I I have regular concerts with my acapella group at GT (Nothin' But Treble GT) and I have been learning Carnatic music since the age of 5 from my grandmother. I love exploring new cities, cultures and learning new languages. I speak 5 different languages: English, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and French.
I have a strong passion for both medical sciences and computational biology and I am excited about merging these two fields to create practical solutions for the field of biomedicine. I am currently a research assistant at the Kamaleswaran Lab in Emory University, where my work primarily involves analyzing medical data related to patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) through lipidomics.
