Bioinformatics Career Mentoring Event

Each fall, the Bioinformatics graduate hosts a Career Mentoring event, primarily for the MS program students.  First year students learn about preparing for their Internship search, and continuing students learn about job search strategies for full-time positions.  

A group of continuing MS Bioinformatics students lead an internship panel, while a group of alumni serve on an alumni panel.  Following the panels, alumni host table topics for the students, choosing a career topic to highlight.
 

The 2022 program agenda included the following:
9:00-9:15 = Arrival/Check-in – Coffee and breakfast items available
9:15-9:20 = Welcome, Professor King Jordan
9:25-10:00 = Internship Panel
10:05-10:45 = Job Search Panel
10:50-11:00 = Coffee Break
11:05-12:50 = Table Topics (students to switch tables every 15 minutes)
01:00-2:00 = Alumni Lunch with Faculty
